European Commission's President reveals details on upcoming sanctions against russia
European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen said the EU was considering imposing sanctions on Sberbank.
This was reported by Bild.
In addition, the EU intends to hit the energy sector.
"We continue to look at the banking sector, especially Sberbank, which accounts for 37% of russia's banking sector. And, of course, this applies to energy issues," she said.
Von der Leyen notes that the EU is developing "smart mechanisms" so that oil can also be included in the next package of sanctions against russia.
