Prime Minister of Canada Trudeau says he also considers russia's actions against Ukrainian people to be genocide

Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau believes that it is "correct" to call russian aggression against Ukraine "genocide"

Trudeau stated this during a conversation with journalists in Quebec, according to the EP with reference to AFP.

"In my opinion, it is absolutely right that more and more people use the word genocide in connection with what eussia is doing (in Ukraine) and what vladimir putin is doing," Trudeau said.

Thus, the Prime Minister of Canada became the second Western leader to call russia's current actions genocide.

As reported by Rubryka, the day before, US President Joe Biden made a similar statement during a speech in Iowa.

In particular, the US president noted that putin was trying to "wipe out the idea of even being able to be Ukrainian."

As Rubryka later wrote, French President Emmanuel Macron refused to call Russia's actions in Ukraine genocide.

"I will be careful with such terms today because these two peoples [russians and Ukrainians] are brothers," he said.

The latest statement provoked a sharp response from the Ukrainian Foreign Ministry.
