The White House is preparing a visit of a high-ranking US government official to Ukraine
The White House is currently working on the possibility of a senior US government official visiting Ukraine.
This was confirmed on Thursday personally by US President Joe Biden before boarding the "number one board" at Andrews Air Force Base near Washington, C-SPAN reports.
When asked by the president if he would send a high-ranking representative of his administration to Ukraine, the White House chief said: "We are making this decision now."
Later, White House First Deputy Spokeswoman Karin Jean-Pierre told reporters that the Biden administration "is in daily contact with the Ukrainian authorities." However, she did not name a US government official who may visit Ukraine in the near future.
It was reported that the Prime Minister of the United Kingdom Boris Johnson paid a visit to Kyiv last week. The presidents of Latvia, Lithuania, Estonia, and Poland arrived in the Ukrainian capital this Wednesday.
