Ukrainian women raped by russian soldiers cannot have abortions in Poland, the human rights activist said

Ukrainian women who have been raped by russian soldiers and left for Poland cannot have abortions there.

This was announced by the head of the Center for Civil Liberties public organization, Oleksandra Matviichuk.

She explained that under the new Polish laws, abortion could be performed only in exceptional cases, such as rape, but it must be confirmed, "and there is no criminal case, as you know."

"After the rape, the woman is in a difficult situation, and there is still information that some psychologists in Poland are trying to reassure such women, saying that a new life is wonderful," added Matviichuk.

She called for a solution to the situation at the level of intergovernmental relations between Poland and Ukraine.
