President Volodymyr Zelenskyy called on the world to urgently provide Ukraine with heavy weapons, air defense systems, and aircraft.
He stated this in an address published on the head of state's social media.
"In order to continue to heroically defend the world from russian aggression, Ukraine needs a specific list of weapons. I appeal to the citizens of the world to help convey to your governments, presidential administrations, and leaders of your countries the real needs of Ukraine, which will help stop the war," said the President.
According to him, Ukraine urgently needs heavy artillery, heavily armored vehicles, air defense systems, and aircraft, namely:
– artillery installations (caliber 155 mm) and ammunition;
– artillery shells (152 mm caliber). As much as possible;
– multiple rocket launchers: Grad, Smerch or American M142 HIMARS;
– Armored personnel carriers (armored personnel carriers, infantry fighting vehicles, etc.);
– tanks (T-72, American or German analogs);
– air defense systems (S-300, Buk or similar modern western air defense systems);
– combat aircraft.
Zelenskyy reminded that various experts said that Ukraine would not last more than a week if russia invaded. However, the Ukrainians not only managed to stop the russian army but also to reject it.
At the same time, he stressed that the war was far from over, it was only the "first round."
According to the head of state, putin and his army are changing their strategy and strengthening their troops to put even more pressure on Kharkiv and the entire Donbas, including Mariupol.
At the same time, the President noted that Russia did not plan to stop at Ukraine. putin's propaganda machine openly declares that Europe is "the next logical goal" after Ukraine. So either the West will help Ukraine stop putin now, or putin will continue to expand his Russian empire, killing thousands of women and children. He has already done it in Mariupol, Kharkiv, Bucha, and other cities of Ukraine," Zelenskyy explained.
He called on the world to unite and help Ukraine fight this brutal aggression.
"Give Ukraine weapons now to defeat this evil together," the President told foreign partners.
Ukraine is on the 49th day of a full-scale invasion of the russian federation, whose troops are shelling and destroying key critical and civilian infrastructure, brutally killing Ukrainians.
