Mariupol: Azov reports on victims’ condition after russia sprayed poisonous substance

Victims of spraying a poisonous substance of unknown origin over Mariupol are now in relatively satisfactory condition

This was reported in the Azov Regiment, whose fighters are defending Mariupol.

The military said civilian contact with the substance was minimal because it was not close to the epicenter.

They added that it is currently impossible to inspect the scene due to enemy fire.

"We were in a shelter position. We heard an explosion and went up to check what and why. I saw fog, more like smoke.

We commanded to go to cover. When we came in, I felt short of breath. It was very difficult to breathe, immediately dizziness and the legs went rubbery. It is not clear what it was," said the victim.

Two other servicemen are under constant medical supervision. Among the injured civilians, the elderly woman feels the worst, as they say in the regiment.

Among the main symptoms in the victims:

• hyperemia of the face,
• increase in blood pressure,
• dryness and heartburn in the oropharynx,
• mucous membranes of the eyes.

"It is now known that the enemy used poisonous substances or potent poisonous substances, mainly of suffocating action. However, because of the complete blockade, their toxicological analysis is impossible," said Azov.

According to Azov leader Andrii Biletskyi, the russian army has used chemical weapons over the Azovstal plant, which is held by Azov Regiment fighters.

The Ministry of Defense of Ukraine is currently investigating reports of the use of chemical weapons in Mariupol.
