Spain plans to send off 25 Russian diplomats after the atrocities in Bucha

Spanish government will expel at least 25 russian diplomats and russian embassy staff in Madrid

This was announced by Spanish Foreign Minister Jose Manuel Albarez, El Espanol reports.

The Minister explained that Russian diplomats "pose a threat to the security of our country, as well as with the situation" observed in the cities of Bucha and Mariupol.

To recap, the Spanish government had been earlier called on to take such a step by the Ukrainian embassy.

"The intolerable footage of the massacre of civilians in Bucha deeply outrages us, and war crimes must be investigated immediately," Albarez said.

According to him, diplomats should leave the country in the "coming days."

In recent days, several EU countries have announced the expulsion of russian diplomats suspected of espionage.

The German Foreign Ministry has announced a decision to expel 40 employees of the russian embassy.

After that, France announced the expulsion of 35 russian diplomats.

On April 5, the Danish Foreign Ministry also announced the expulsion of 15 russian intelligence officers working undercover at the russian embassy.

Italian Foreign Minister Luigi Di Mayo has announced the expulsion of 30 russian diplomats.

As reported by Rubryka, the Netherlands is sending off 17 russian diplomats, Belgium is sending off 21 russian diplomats, and 4 more diplomats are being sent off t by Ireland and one by the Czech Republic.
