Zelenskyy: It will be recognized by the world as genocide. We know about thousands of tortured people
During a trip to Bucha (Kyiv region), President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said that thousands of civilians tortured by the russian occupiers were already known in Ukraine. He called for calling these tragic events genocide.
This is stated in his interview with reporters.
"What you see around you, what they have done to this beautiful town, is a description of the russian military, which treated people worse than animals. These are war crimes, and they will be recognized by the world as genocide… We know about thousands of people killed and tortured with severed limbs, raped women, murdered children… This is genocide," Zelenskyy said.
On April 1, Bucha was liberated from the russian occupiers. On April 2, Bucha Mayor Anatolii Fedoruk announced that nearly 300 citizens had been buried in mass graves and that dozens of corpses lay in the streets, some with their hands tied.
