After atrocities in Bucha, Macron called for tougher sanctions against russia
After the atrocities in Bucha, French President Emmanuel Macron called for tougher sanctions against russia and restrictions on russian oil and coal imports.
He stated this on France Inter, Le Figaro reports.
"What happened in Bucha requires a new set of sanctions, and these must be very clear measures," he said.
"So we will coordinate with our European partners, in particular with Germany," "in the coming days," he added, referring to individual sanctions and measures on "coal and oil."
"There are very clear signs of war crimes" in Ukraine, Macron said, commenting on the events in Bucha.
"It was the russian army that was in Bucha. Those who were at the source of these crimes will have to answer for them," the French president said.
He also stated his readiness to assist the Ukrainian authorities in investigating these crimes.
