Secretary of the National Security and Defense Council Oleksii Danilov stated that Ukraine was not involved in the explosions at the oil depot in Belgorod, Russia. According to him, this is the work of local residents.

Danilov said this on the joint air of TV channels, Hromadske reports.

According to him, contradictions are accumulating and society in Russia is beginning to "understand something."

"For example, what happened on the territory of the Belgorod People's Republic. Explosion at the oil depot. For some reason, they say we did it. In fact, this is not true at all. We do not comment on it," said the Secretary of the National Security and Defense Council.

According to him, Russia must understand that this can happen throughout Russia: "We did not come to them, we did not go to them with the war."

"And when Peskov says that it is not conducive to negotiations, but facilitates negotiations when they kill our children, women when they commit these atrocities. These are some sick people."

Danilov stressed that the occupiers during the talks did not allow to pick up children, make evacuation corridors for civilians, and "lie to the whole world that they are allegedly doing nothing here, except that they are destroying some Nazis."

Earlier, a large fire broke out at an oil depot in the Russian city of Belgorod, near the border with Ukraine.

Later, the Russian media announced another shell near Belgorod "from Ukraine."

The Ministry of Defense has not confirmed Ukraine's involvement in the burning of the oil depot in Belgorod.
