Russia buys weapons through Gazprombank, not disconnected from SWIFT, intelligence reports
A Russian bank that avoided disconnection from the SWIFT system is now being used to finance Russian aggression. Sanctions against Gazprombank have so far been imposed only by the United Kingdom.
This was reported by the Main Intelligence Directorate of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine.
"In particular, it has been established that UAVs, components for military equipment, and electronic reconnaissance equipment for units of the 47th Panzer Division (Mulino) are being procured through Russia's Promsvyazbank and Gazprombank," the statement said.
The Defense Intelligence informs that on March 12, Promsvyazbank was included in the list of institutions disconnected from the SWIFT system, and only Great Britain imposed sanctions against Gazprombank. This bank is the main institution through which Europeans pay for the supply of Russian energy.
