Up to 300 civilians and up to 66 servicemen killed in Irpin, the mayor says
The mayor of Irpin Oleksandr Makrushyn said that according to preliminary data, up to 300 civilians and up to 50 servicemen died in Irpin.
This was announced by Markushyn during a briefing, UP reports.
"People who they (Russians – ed.) didn't like were just shot by them. I'll tell you, someone may not like it, but it's true. They crushed our Ukrainians, who had been killed, crushed them with tanks, and simply rolled them into the asphalt. It was scary to watch… Unfortunately, 16 guys from our territorial defense died, 29 are in the hospital. If up to 50 people from the Ukrainian Armed Forces were killed and about 100 are wounded," he said.
He said there was no exact number of civilians killed and said that when there was heavy fighting, people were buried in yards and parks. Markushyn estimates that up to 300 civilians were killed.
The mayor also said that he was told by residents who came out of the basements that they were not only undressed there, but there were also facts of "abuse of women."
Markushyn also said that the occupiers separated men from women in order to exchange them for prisoners.
