The Prime Minister of Slovenia, Janez Janša, stated on Wednesday that he supports the sending of S-300 air defense systems to Ukraine.

He said this on CNN.

"Yes, I support it, because this is the equipment that Ukraine needs the most," Janša said.

"I don't support talking much about what we give them," he added.

Janša also said that he had talked with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy, who told him that his government was ready to offer Ukrainians a referendum on changing the constitution to renounce Ukraine's desire to join NATO.

"I think they made a pragmatic decision because after they win this war, I think NATO will want them to join. When they win this war, the Ukrainian army will be one of the strongest, if not the strongest, the army on the European continent," said the Prime Minister of Slovenia.

Earlier, Slovakia previously agreed to provide Ukraine with one S-300 system for protection against Russian airstrikes.
