The United States continues to oppose the provision of fighter jets to Ukraine.

In a video address Thursday, Zelenskyy asked NATO for "one percent of all your aircraft," he later added: "You have thousands of fighter jets, but we have not been even one."
Earlier, US officials said they opposed the provision of fighter jets to Ukraine, as Russian President Vladimir Putin could see it as a step towards escalation.
As reported, NATO Secretary-General confirmed on Thursday that NATO has no plans to close the skies over Ukraine with Allied forces. Although there is a NATO decision to supply air defense systems to Ukraine from Slovakia, the completion of this supply is unknown.
At the same time, the US Congress calls on Biden to provide Ukraine with air defense systems and fighters.
