Armed Forces captured one of the most powerful electronic warfare stations in Russian Armed Forces
The Ukrainian military has seized the command module of the Krasukha-4 EW system, which could become a gold mine for reconnaissance
The military department of The Drive reported this.
According to the publishing house, the fighters seized the command post outside Kyiv.
The military found one of the two cars of Krasukha-4 number 1RL257. The complete complex consists of two cars on the basis of KAMAZ-6350 trucks.
Ukrainian defenders found a container.
It was lying on its side with tree branches above.
It is unclear whether this is an attempt to hide it or it's just in this form after an attack or accident.
There is damage to the command and staff module. There are no access hatches on the visible side. In general, the condition of the module is good.
#Ukraine: We managed to identify this bizarre "container", captured today by the UA forces near #Kyiv.
It is likely to be the command post of one of the most potent Russian EW system – 1RL257 Krasukha-4, used to suppress AWACS radars & radar reconnaissance satellites. pic.twitter.com/1VvKjGoM2p

According to the outlet, even half of the Krasukha-4 system can be of great importance for the Russian army from an operational point of view. This is one of the most powerful mobile EW systems in the Russian Armed Forces.
The stated maximum range of ground and air targets is from 150 to 300 kilometers, depending on the environment. It is able to detect and block:
- radars
- survey radars
- onboard radar image sensors
- active homing radar heads
- altimeters in rockets.
The deployment of Krasukha-4 in the immediate vicinity of Kyiv would make sense to make it more difficult for Ukrainian forces and their international partners to search for and target Russian units in the area using radar.
