Ukraine is working to release Zmiinyi Island's defenders from captivity
Ukraine will soon try to exchange and return home Ukrainian military, which defended the Zmiinyi Island and was captured on February 24.
Iryna Vereshchuk, Minister for Reintegration of the Temporarily Occupied Territories of Ukraine, told Suspilne about it.
According to her, the Ukrainian side has 11 Russian sailors and is ready to hand them over.
The Minister also spoke about the appeal of the Russian Commissioner for Human Rights in Russia Moskalkova. She suggested arranging a parity exchange, but this can hardly be considered possible.
"I say, okay, but tell me, please, who should we send you in exchange for our mayors, who have been taken prisoner by the occupiers? Do we also need to capture your civilians? What should we do if you talk about parity?" Iryna Vereshchuk remarked.
