Zelensky in his address to the people of Israel: Ukrainians made their choice 80 years ago and saved Jews, now you have such a choice
Addressing members of parliament, the government, and the people of Israel, President Volodymyr Zelensky said that the people of Ukraine made their choice during World War II while saving the Jews, and now it's time for the Israeli people to do the same.
"Ukrainians made their choice 80 years ago. They saved the Jews. And that's why there are righteous people of the world among us. The people of Israel! Now you have such a choice," Zelensky said. In his address, the president spoke of the fall of Russian rockets on Babyn Yar in Kyiv, where tens of thousands of Holocaust victims are buried, as well as the shelling of Uman, which Israelis visit every year to make a pilgrimage to the tomb of Tzaddik Nachman.
"People of Israel, you have seen Russian missiles hit Kyiv, Babyn Yar. You know what kind of land it is. More than a hundred thousand Holocaust victims are buried there, ancient Kyiv cemeteries there, Jewish cemeteries there. Russian missiles hit there."
"What will be left of all these cities of Ukraine after this terrible war? I am sure that every word of my address is reflected in your hearts because you feel what I am talking about. But can you explain why we are still addressing the world? for help. We turn to you for help, basic visas. What is it? Indifference, calculation or just mediation… I will say only one thing: indifference kills, "said the head of state.
"Everyone in Israel knows that your missile defense is the best, powerful. Everyone knows that your weapon is strong, that you are good. You know how to defend your state interests, the interests of your people and you can definitely help our people. Protect the lives of Ukrainians, the lives of Ukrainian Jews You can ask for a long time why we can't get weapons from you, or why Israel didn't impose sanctions on Russia, why it doesn't put pressure on Russian business. But the answer is still up to you. Dear brothers and sisters! ", – Zelensky summed up.
