The enemy doesn’t abandon attempts to reach the border of Donetsk and Luhansk regions – General Staff

Russian occupiers continue the strategic offensive against Ukraine and don't stop attempts to reach the administrative borders of Luhansk and Donetsk regions, but without success

This was reported by the press center of the General Staff as of 12.00 on March 17.

The General Staff notes that to restrain the actions of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, the enemy is trying to block settlements north of the capital.

"At the same time, the enemy doesn't refuse to launch the missile and bomb strikes on civilian infrastructure in Lviv, Ivano-Frankivsk, Dnipropetrovsk, and other regions where there are no active hostilities," the headquarters said.

In the Volyn direction: intensive use of the territory, infrastructure of the Republic of Belarus by groups of troops of the Russian Federation is recorded.

According to the General Staff, the probability of participation of certain units of the armed forces of Belarus in hostilities on the side of Russia remains.

In the Polissia direction: the enemy made attempts to capture the previously occupied borders, which were lost as a result of successful actions of units of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. He has no success in this direction.

In the Siveria direction: the enemy didn't conduct active offensive operations. It carries out chaotic shelling of positions of units of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, tries to conduct reconnaissance.

In the Sloboda direction: the occupiers tried to carry out offensive operations from the area of ​​the city of Izium but were unsuccessful. They are trying to gain a foothold on the occupied frontiers.

The Russian invaders are strengthening the group at the expense of additional units of the 1st Panzer Army and the coastal units of the Baltic Fleet.

In the Donetsk and Tavria directions: the enemy carried out offensive operations. It had partial success in the Rubizhne area (fixed on the western and north-western outskirts of the city, moving to the southern part of the city).

It carried out unsuccessful assault operations in the Popasna and Volnovakha areas in the areas of Verkhnotoretsk and Marinka. He suffered losses. The storming of the city continues in the Mariupol direction.

In the Zaporizhzhia direction: the occupiers did not carry out active offensive operations.

In the Pivdennyi Buh: the enemy conducted reconnaissance, carried out engineering equipment of the occupied positions. He tried to carry out offensive operations in the Kryvyi Rih direction, took control Mala Shestirnia, but had no general success.

In the Tavria direction: the enemy continued to increase the system of logistics of the group of troops. A collection point for damaged equipment has been deployed at Dzhankoi airfield.

It is also reported that the enemy is trying to spread misinformation through all available channels of communication both to the population of the temporarily occupied territories and to its own population.
