China will never attack Ukraine but will help, especially in the economy
This was stated by the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the People's Republic of China to Ukraine Fan Xianrong during a meeting with the head of the military administration of Lviv region Maksym Kozytskyi.
"China will never attack Ukraine, we will help, especially in the economic direction. Our country imports goods from around the world worth more than three trillion dollars in one year.
We are ready to help you develop. In this situation, which you have now, we will act responsibly. We have seen how great the unity of the Ukrainian people is, and that means its strength," the ambassador said.
Xianrong also stressed that "China will forever be a good force for Ukraine both economically and politically."
China respects "the path chosen by Ukrainians because it is the sovereign right of every nation."
It is specified that China sent several consignments of humanitarian aid to Ukraine.
To recap, the NYT quoted US officials as saying that Russia had asked China to provide it with military equipment and support in the war with Ukraine.
Russia has also asked China for additional economic assistance to help counter sanctions.
The Chinese embassy said it had never heard of it.
