Zelenskyy signs a decree on a nationwide minute of silence to honor those killed in the war

President Volodymyr Zelenskyy signed a decree on a nationwide minute of silence to honor all those killed in the Russian invasion

He said this in a video address on the 21st day of the full-scale war.

"Every morning at 9 o'clock in the whole territory of our state, we will remember the Ukrainians who gave their lives. Military and civilian. Adults and children… All those who could still live if Russia didn't start this war," Zelenskyy said.

Losses of Ukraine

To recap, on March 12, Zelenskyy for the first time reported losses among the Ukrainian military.

According to him, up to 1,300 Ukrainian soldiers died in the war against Russia.

As reported by Rubryka, according to the Prosecutor General's Office, at least 103 children have died and more than 100 have been injured since the start of the full-scale war.

According to the United Nations, as of March 15, at least 691 civilians had been killed and 1,143 injured in Ukraine.

The organization notes that the real numbers of dead and injured are much higher. However, due to the intensity of hostilities, there are difficulties in the calculations.

In particular, the statistics did not include victims from Izium, Mariupol, and Volnovakha, as UN experts are looking for additional confirmation of the figures provided by local authorities.

Thus, the authorities of Mariupol reported on the evening of March 14 at least 2,357 civilians were killed.
