Russian military has taken hostage a hospital in Mariupol, Head of Regional Administration

Russian military took hostage doctors and patients of the Regional Intensive Care Hospital in Mariupol.

This was stated by the head of the Donetsk regional military administration Pavlo Kyrylenko in Telegram.

"The Russian occupiers took doctors and patients hostage. One of the hospital staff managed to pass on this news. The following is a quote: 'It is impossible to leave the hospital. They shoot hard, we sit in the basement. Cars have not been able to drive to the hospital for two days. High-rise buildings are burning around… Russians rushed 400 people from neighboring houses to our hospital. We can't leave," Kirilenko said.

The Head of Regional Military Administration noted that the other day the Russian occupiers practically destroyed this hospital; the floor slabs fell in the main building from the bombing. But staff and patients continued to work and receive treatment in the adapted basement.

Kyrylenko appealed to international human rights organizations to respond to these "malicious violations of the norms and customs of war, to these egregious crimes against humanity."

The head of the administration stressed that Russia and every citizen involved in crimes in Ukraine should be punished.
