The Russian Federation asks China for military assistance during a full-scale invasion of Ukraine.

The Financial Times reported this.

According to the newspaper, officials familiar with the situation say that US President's National Security Adviser Jake Sullivan will sternly warn China that any attempt to help Russia continue the invasion or evade Western sanctions will have consequences.

The White House fears the move is a sign of growing ties between Beijing and Moscow.

Similar information is reported by The Washington Post; US officials familiar with the story told the publication that Moscow turned to China for military equipment and assistance a few weeks after the invasion of Ukraine. They didn't describe what weapons were requested and didn't know how China reacted.

In a recent Twitter message, Sullivan said the White House administration had told Beijing that China's efforts to help Russia evade sanctions would inevitably have consequences.

This is a colossal humiliation of the Kremlin, which for many years has tried to position itself as a superpower.
