The EU has provided Ukraine with the first 300 million euros of emergency macro-financial assistance from a package of 1.2 billion euros

The President of the European Commission Ursula von der Leyen announced this on Twitter, Rubryka reports.

"Putin's war is putting severe military and economic pressure on the brave people of Ukraine. Europe has always supported them.

Today, we have paid 300 million euros in emergency macro-financial assistance. This is the first payment from the package of 1.2 billion euros. Accordingly, the next ones are ahead," she wrote.

To recap, earlier the European Commission approved the provision of macro-financial assistance to Ukraine in the amount of 1.2 billion euros.

European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen called on the European Parliament and the EU to pay the first tranche of 600 million euros as soon as possible.
