If Ukraine doesn't sow because of the war, famine threatens the entire world - farmers
Continuation of Russia's war against Ukraine after April 1 will disrupt the sowing campaign in both countries and lead to a significant shortage of food on the world market.
Therefore, international companies and corporations should help end Russia's war against Ukraine by abandoning business in Russia.
Petro Melnyk, president of the Ukrainian Club of Agrarian Business, one of the largest agricultural associations in the country, addressed a corresponding appeal to international business, NV reports.
"We ask all multinational companies that produce and supply agricultural machinery, seeds, fertilizers, pesticides, as well as grain traders to immediately suspend business with Russia and Belarus. The war must be stopped by April 1, the sowing date, otherwise, there will be no sowing campaign in Ukraine or Russia. And the entire world will suffer from a shortage of grain, which will end in famine," Melnyk said.
He also thanked John Deere, Corteva, Louis Dreyfus Commodities, Trimble, which, according to him, have already officially suspended their supplies to Russia and business with the aggressor country, and asked other companies to join the sanctions.
"We see that many multinational companies are suspending their business with Russia. We really appreciate it. This is a real act, a real contribution to ending the war, stopping deaths and destruction in Ukraine," Melnyk said.
He stressed that the sanctions already imposed on Russia were working, and Russians were beginning to realize the consequences of Putin's criminal attack on Ukraine, freedom, and democratic values.
