The Kremlin has said that a meeting between Zelenskyy and Putin is possible
The Kremlin has stated that a meeting between the President of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelenskyy, and Volodymyr Putin, is possible.
RIA Novosti reported this with reference to Putin's spokesperson Dmitry Peskov.
"No one rules out a meeting between Putin and Zelenskyy, conceptually it is possible, but first the negotiators must do their part," Peskov said.
Earlier, a spokesperson for Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan said that a meeting between Putin and Zelenskyy was possible in the near future.
Note
President Zelenskyy regularly calls on the President of the occupying country, Vladimir Putin, to hold direct talks. However, Putin avoids them in every possible way. On March 3, President Zelenskyy announced that he was ready to sit down at the negotiating table with Putin, who had started the war against Ukraine.
On March 8, Zelenskyy repeated his readiness to sit down at the negotiating table with Putin on ending Russia's war with Ukraine.
Zelenskyy also said that Vladimir Putin was wrong to think that Ukrainians could be broken or forced to surrender and that he compared the desire to destroy Ukraine to an illness.
To recap, on March 10, Turkish Foreign Minister Mevlüt Çavuşoğlu said that Russian President Vladimir Putin was not against direct talks with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy.
