President Volodymyr Zelenskyy signed a law that allows forcible seizure of property of the Russian Federation and its residents in Ukraine
Rubryka reported this, citing the Verkhovna Rada.
According to the new rules, withdrawals will be made without any compensation for the cost.
"Forcible seizure of property rights of the Russian Federation and its residents in Ukraine is carried out without any compensation (reimbursement) of their value, given the full-scale aggressive war waged by the Russian Federation against Ukraine and the Ukrainian people," the law reads.
Movable and immovable property, funds, assets, securities, corporate rights, bank deposits, and other property owned directly or through affiliates by Russia or its citizens will be forcibly seized.
Exceptions will be only objects, the ownership of which is not subject to state registration of property rights.
The decision on forced removal will be made by the National Security and Defense Council and approved by the President.
