During the day, Ukraine managed to evacuate 40,000 people: more than 3,000 from Irpin and Vorzel

In a day, Ukraine managed to evacuate 40 thousand women and children from areas of hostilities in different parts of the country

This was announced by the Head of the Servant of the People faction Davyd Arakhamia on Facebook, and the National Police.

Finally, more than 3,000 were evacuated from occupied Irpin and Vorzel.

"Over 40,000 women and children were evacuated from all over Ukraine in one day.

We tried 100,000, but it didn't work out," Arakhamia said.

According to him, the most problematic areas are Mariupol, Kharkiv, and Kyiv region.

At the same time, the National Police reports that several thousand people were evacuated from the occupied Bucha district of the Kyiv region.

"Today, March 9, the joint efforts of the Kyiv region police, the Red Cross, the SES, and local governments managed to evacuate more than 3,000 people from the occupied Irpin and Vorzel. Among the rescued citizens, there are several hundred children, the elderly, and the seriously ill," the statement said.

About a hundred buses and ambulances were used to evacuate the Bucha district.

Near Kyiv, where the evacuation camp was located, the rescued citizens were greeted with hot food and tea. People were also provided with medical care and guidance on the way forward.

"Unfortunately, the occupiers stopped the humanitarian convoy that was leaving Bucha, Hostomel, and Borodianka today. Therefore, some people were forced to risk their lives to leave Bucha for Irpen and leave with a convoy of locals," police said.

"People who came out of the blockade shared the horrors of the occupation, looting, executions, intimidation, and robbery are prevalent in Russian-occupied cities. I hope that in the near future we will be able to save our citizens from this humiliating siege," said Kyiv Police Chief Andrii Nebitov.
