Xi Jinping had a conversation with Macron and Scholz about Ukraine

Chinese President Xi Jinping, along with France and Germany, supports any diplomatic efforts to resolve the Russian-Ukrainian war peacefully

This was reported by UP, citing Reuters.

"Chancellor Scholz, President Macron, and Chinese President Jinping have expressed their full support for any talks on a diplomatic solution to the war.

The three heads of state and government called for humanitarian aid and the provision of corridors for the evacuation of the population in places of active hostilities," the statement said.

Macron and Scholz talked to Jinping for an hour online.

The parties agreed that the foreign ministers of the three countries will hold detailed consultations to agree on positions for future talks.

To recap, on March 1, a representative of the Chinese Foreign Ministry assured Ukrainian Minister Dmytro Kuleba of the Chinese government's readiness to facilitate a diplomatic settlement of the war.

Earlier, China called on Russia to exercise restraint after threats to use nuclear weapons.

China's state-owned banks have begun restricting the purchase of Russian raw materials following the imposition of tough economic sanctions.

On February 25, the second day of Russia's full-scale war against Ukraine, Xi Jinping called Putin and called for a diplomatic settlement of the Russian-Ukrainian war.
