The United Kingdom will provide Ukraine with an additional $100 million
The United Kingdom will provide Ukraine with an additional $100 million in economic support.
This is stated on the government's website.
"The UK allocates an additional $100m directly to the Ukrainian government budget to mitigate financial pressures created by Russia's unprovoked and illegal invasion," the statement said.
It is noted that the assistance provided can be used to provide wages in the public sector, as well as support social protection and pension payments to Ukrainians. The money will be allocated through the World Bank.
The British government also called on other donors to pool their resources "in this Trust Fund to ensure efficient and rapid support to the government and people of Ukraine."
In addition, the press service of the British government reports that on Monday, Prime Minister Boris Johnson will meet with Canadian leaders Justin Trudeau and the Netherlands Mark Rutte to discuss the situation in Ukraine.
