Hungary changed its position and now agrees to host NATO military forces

Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban has signed a government decree authorizing the deployment of NATO troops in Hungary. 

The report is according to Bloomberg.

A decree issued on Monday also confirms the government's ban on transporting lethal weapons to Ukraine via Hungary.

However, unlike many other Eastern European member states of the North Atlantic Treaty, the Orban government on purpose did not address NATO forces to protect the eastern border, claiming that it had sufficient military resources.

In early February, the Hungarian government stated that it did not want to deploy NATO forces in their country. In opposite, several Eastern European members of the Alliance called for this amid reports of an expected Russian invasion of Ukraine.
