National Bank transfers UAH 6 billion to the army

The National Bank has already transferred UAH 6 billion to the needs of the Ukrainian army from funds received in a special account

The press service of the NBU announced this, Rubryka reports.

As of March 6, more than UAH 10.1 billion has been raised to support the army and humanitarian aid.

Of these funds, the National Bank has already transferred over UAH 6 billion to the military.

Yes, for needs:

  • UAH 450 million was transferred to the National Guard,
  • National Police – UAH 850 million,
  • Ministry of Defense – UAH 4.3 billion,
  • State Border Guard Service – UAH 420 million.

The funds came from citizens and businesses in Ukraine, as well as from the international community.

In particular, from the USA, Great Britain, Poland, Germany, Sweden, Finland, the Czech Republic, China, France, Canada, and "many other countries." More than UAH 2.9 billion in foreign currency came from abroad.

Currently, the balance on the special account is UAH 4 billion.

A total of over UAH 57.5 million in total was transferred to the account of the Ministry of Social Policy, which was opened by the National Bank for humanitarian purposes. These funds have not yet been spent.
