Germany announces further sanctions against Russia
German Federal Foreign Minister Annalena Baerbock announced further sanctions against Russia.
She said this on Friday on the sidelines of a special meeting of NATO foreign ministers in Brussels, Bild reports.
"Apart from the three tough sanctions packages we have already adopted, we will take further measures aimed at the center of Putin's power," she said.
Baerbock didn't provide further details on future sanctions.
The EU sanctions already imposed on Russia include tough economic and financial sanctions. In addition, some oligarchs linked to Russian President Putin have already been on the EU sanctions list.
Among other things, sanctions freeze their assets in the EU and restrict their freedom of movement.
To recap, the day before, after a conversation between French President Emmanuel Macron and Putin, a representative of the Elysee Palace told reporters that France was ready to tighten sanctions against Russia.
After talks with Putin, French President Emmanuel Macron believes that Putin seeks to seize all of Ukraine, and that "the worst is yet to come," the Elysee Palace said.
