Moscow didn't support Zelenskyy's proposal for direct talks with Putin

Dmitry Peskov, a spokesperson for Russian President Vladimir Putin, didn't support Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy's proposal for direct talks between the two leaders.

This was reported by the Russian service of BBC News.

Peskov is satisfied with the talks in the current format through the delegations of the Moscow and Kyiv meeting in Belarus.

However, he stressed that so far it was not a question of signing documents based on their results.

Yesterday, President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy stated that the Ukrainian side was ready for a dialogue with the leadership of the Russian Federation, but one should not communicate as if Ukraine were a second-class country.

As reported, on February 24, Russian President Vladimir Putin announced the beginning of the invasion of Ukraine. Martial law was imposed. The President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy signed a decree on general mobilization.
