Rada speaks up for introducing peacekeeping forces in Ukraine - Kornienko

The Verkhovna Rada supports the introduction of peacekeeping forces in Ukraine.

This is stated in the statement of the First Vice-Speaker of the Rada Oleksandr Kornienko, quoted by the Verkhovna Rada website.

"We consider it necessary to introduce peacekeeping forces in Ukraine on the basis of UN General Assembly Resolution 377 (V)" Unification for Peace "of November 3, 1950," he said.

The Vice-Speaker stressed that the deputies also demand the immediate introduction of a no-fly zone over the territory of Ukraine, which will protect the civilian population, world cultural heritage sites, and critical infrastructure.

In addition, the parliament calls for the opening of a "green corridor" for the safe evacuation of women, children, and the elderly, the provision of humanitarian aid to victims and civilians.

Earlier, on March 3, the Verkhovna Rada approved a decree of the President of Ukraine "On General Mobilization" and passed a number of laws to increase responsibility for collaborationism, crimes against the state, and propaganda of the aggressor.
