Zaporizhzhia NPP site seized by Russian military
Zaporizhzhia NPP power units remain intact, no changes in radiation status have been recorded so far.
According to the State Nuclear Regulatory Inspectorate of Ukraine (SNRIU), the Zaporizhzhia NPP site is currently occupied by the Russian military.
"ZNPP units remain intact, there is damage to the reactor compartment of Unit 1, which doesn't affect the safety of the unit. Systems and elements important for the safety of NPPs are in working order. No changes in radiation status have been recorded so far," the statement said.
Specialists of the SNRIU and State Nuclear and Radiological Center maintain contact with the management of Zaporizhzhia NPP.
Condition of power units:
- Power unit № 1: planned and preventive repairs.
- Power units № 2, № 3: disconnected from the grid and cooling of nuclear installations.
- Power unit № 4: in operation, electric power 690 MW.
- Power units № 5, 6: cooling of nuclear installations is carried out.
"Operational personnel monitor the condition of power units and ensure their operation in accordance with the requirements of technical regulations for safe operation," the statement said.
Currently, the Zaporizhzhia NPP site is occupied by the Russian military.

On the night of March 4, the Russian military fired on the Zaporizhzhia NPP site, resulting in a fire at the nuclear power plant. As of 6:20 am, rescuers put out the fire. There is no information about the dead and injured.
