Weapons from Germany arrived in Ukraine: 1,000 anti-tank weapons and 500 Stinger anti-aircraft missiles
This was announced by Bild citing sources in the government, the EP reports.
According to reports, the German federal government, which has been opposed to arms supplies to Ukraine for weeks, approved a decision to provide weapons to the Armed Forces on February 26.
After Russia's attack on Ukraine, security policy was rethought not only in the federal government but also among the population.
The publication notes that 78% of people in Germany support the supply of German weapons to Ukraine, as well as the rearmament of the Bundeswehr.
By comparison, before Putin's attack, only 22% of respondents in last week's Insa poll for BILD were in favor of arms supplies to Ukraine.
Meanwhile, on Wednesday, German Chancellor Olaf Scholz ruled out NATO's involvement in Russia's war against Ukraine.
