Walt Disney suspends showing of its films in Russian cinemas because of its full-scale invasion of Ukraine
On February 28, Disney announced the suspension of showing its own films in Russian cinemas due to a full-scale Russian attack on Ukraine.
This is stated in the company's statement.
"Given the unprovoked invasion of Ukraine and the tragic humanitarian crisis, we are pausing the release of theatrical films in Russia, including the upcoming Turning Red from Pixar," said Disney.
The company added that future business decisions will be made based on how the situation develops.
"In the meantime, given the scale of the emerging refugee crisis, we are working with our NGO partners to provide urgent aid and other humanitarian assistance to refugees," Disney said.
