National Bank opens an account for humanitarian aid to Ukrainians
The National Bank has opened an account for the Ministry of Social Policy for humanitarian purposes. Foreigners and Ukrainians can donate to it
This was reported by the press service of the NBU, Rubryka informs.
The Ministry of Social Policy will use the funds raised to support the citizens of Ukraine who suffer the most from the war.
The need for an account arose to regulate the receipt of funds from donors for humanitarian aid to war victims.
"Russian aggression has left thousands of Ukrainians without homes, money, clothes, food, and other basic things. However, Ukraine and the world do not leave them alone with their grief – financial support is actively coming from citizens of our country and abroad," – said the Chairman of the National Bank of Ukraine Kyrylo Shevchenko.
It is reported that, unlike the special account opened to finance the needs of the Armed Forces, the funds from this account will be spent to help citizens who suffer the most from the war with Russia.
They will be used to pay for food and accommodation for refugees, provide them with clothing and footwear, medicines, and basic necessities.
The funds raised will also be used to provide one-time financial assistance to refugees and temporarily displaced persons.
The account is a multi-currency account created for the transfer of funds from international partners and donors (in foreign currency) and from Ukrainian businesses and citizens (in UAH).
