Ukraine is preparing an administrative document banning navigation in the territorial sea of Ukraine, as well as the entry into the seaports of Ukraine of vessels flying the flag of Russia or associated with Russia
This was announced in the Ministry of Infrastructure, Rubryka reports.
As noted, the decision applies to ships whose owners, participants (shareholders, members), or final beneficiaries are citizens of the Russian Federation, legal entities registered in the territory of the Russian Federation, as well as individuals and legal entities subject to sanctions.
In addition, the entry of Ukrainian-flagged vessels into the ports of the Russian Federation will be prohibited.
"The government wants to terminate agreements on the use of inland waterways with Belarus. For security reasons, the Cabinet of Ministers has established the 3rd level of security in seaports.
Ukraine has sent almost 50 appeals to the world's leading maritime powers and associations with information about Russia's invasion of Ukraine and the facts of gross violations of international maritime law.
The Ukrainian side demands to stop sea communication with the ports of the Russian Federation, as well as the service of Russian ships in foreign ports," the statement reads.
So far, the UK Ministry of Transport has decided to ban ships that are in any way connected with the Russian Federation.
