German Minister of Foreign Affairs Annalena Baerbok warns against Ukraine's immediate accession to the European Union.

European Pravda reports referring to Spiegel.

"Everyone knows that joining the EU is not something that can be completed in a few months," Baerbock said.

According to her, this project entails "an intensive and far-reaching process of transformation."

Baerbock stressed: "Ukraine is part of the European home. The EU has always been a home whose doors are open."

She thanked Ukraine's neighbors for hosting hundreds of thousands of people fleeing the war. She thanked the countries of Eastern Europe for their help.

"As Europeans, as a community of values, we stand together on the side of Ukrainians and accept everyone," Baerbock said.

Earlier it became known that Zelenskyy signed an application for Ukraine's membership in the EU.

Earlier, President Volodymyr Zelensky appealed to the European Union to accept Ukraine under a special procedure.

"We appeal to the European Union to join immediately under a new special procedure," the president said.

We remind that earlier Slovakia proposed to create a special procedure for Ukraine's accession to the EU.
