On February 28, most Moldovan banks refused to accept Russian rubles in exchange
This was reported by the Moldovan newspaper NewsMaker.
As noted, some banks are ready to sell Russian rubles, but only private exchange offices are ready to buy Russian currency.
Almost all Moldovan banks refused to exchange Russian rubles. In many exchange offices of commercial banks, Russian rubles are not accepted. For example, in Maib, Moldindkonbank, Viktoriabank and others.
Some banks sell only Russian rubles, such as OTP Bank. Another Moldovan bank, Eximbank, has set a buying rate of one Russian ruble for one ban and a 22-ban selling rate for one ruble.
Some currency exchange offices still exchange Russian rubles. The most favorable exchange rate seen by the publication's correspondent was 0.16-0.22 lei per ruble. In some exchanges, the exchange rate is much lower.
