Russian soldiers who surrender to Ukraine offered 5 million rubles and amnesty
The Ministry of Defense of Ukraine supported the initiative of the international IT community. Ukraine offers Russian soldiers a choice: to die in the war of aggression or receive a full amnesty and 5 million rubles in compensation.
Funds to support this initiative are raised by leaders of the global IT industry, said the Minister of Defense Oleksii Reznikov.
The Russian military will be able to receive money and legal protection from Ukraine only if they voluntarily lay down their arms and surrender.
The authors of such an initiative were the international IT community. According to UN Fund Ambassador Masha Efrosinina, IT professionals from around the world have raised and continue to raise millions of dollars to pay the Russian military 5 million rubles – in cryptocurrency, on a bank account, or in cash.
The soldiers will receive the funds as soon as they surrender with weapons and military equipment. Amnesty is offered after the trial.
"We offer the Russian military to start a new life. Anyone who refuses to be an occupier will bring peace. For those who choose the path of the occupier, there will be no mercy," Reznikov said.
