Germany wants to discuss NATO's threats to nuclear weapons in NATO

German Defense Minister Christine Lambrecht has expressed concern over the indirect threat of nuclear weapons by Russian President Vladimir Putin

As she stressed, "this should be taken very seriously and, above all, monitored with the help of our intelligence."

"But we must also take into account that he is not moving as fast in his offensive, in his war, as he probably imagined. He imagined that it would be faster, and now he must act, hence these gestures. But nevertheless, we have felt how unpredictable Putin is, so we must be very vigilant now," she said.

Lambrecht stressed that Germany would raise the issue at the NATO level.

"We will also talk about this in NATO," Lambrecht said.

To recap, on February 27, Putin ordered the transfer of deterrence forces to a special combat duty regime.

The Pentagon responded by saying that the United States is capable of protecting itself, its allies, and partners.
