Volnovakha, Donetsk region, is on the verge of a humanitarian catastrophe
The city of Volnovakha, the Donetsk region, is on the verge of a humanitarian catastrophe.
The Russian army has been bombing the city for the second day in a row, leveling it to the ground, according to the head of the Donetsk Regional State Administration Pavlo Kyrylenko.
Private and apartment buildings, infrastructure facilities, and a hospital were badly damaged by the occupiers' shelling (a Russian shell hit an ENT department and a women's clinic).
People are constantly hiding in the basements.
The city is blocked by the enemy: it is impossible to evacuate the population or at least provide people with bread and water.
There is no electricity and no way to restore it.
"I appeal to international humanitarian organizations to help the city. Russian troops must stop shelling and enable the legitimate Ukrainian authorities to provide assistance to the population and prevent a humanitarian catastrophe!" – Kyrylenko calls.
