In the Sumy region, border guards and national guardsmen engaged in a battle with a sabotage and reconnaissance group
This is reported by the State Border Service.
As noted, law enforcement officers received information about suspicious persons placing marks around the city during patrolling.
To verify the information, a group of the intelligence department, consisting of border guards and National Guardsmen, has set off.
On one of the streets, the military personnel found a burning car and stopped to check if there were people in the car and to provide assistance. However, they were fired upon by a sabotage and reconnaissance group.
The border guards with the National Guardsmen went into battle, as a result of which two border guards were killed, one National Guardsman was wounded. The car of border guards was also damaged.
The area where the sabotage group is supposed to be is currently being checked.
The border guards, along with representatives of other components of the security forces, continue to resist the Russian invasion and oppose sabotage activities.
