Putin has officially joined Assad and Lukashenko: the EU has frozen his assets

EU agrees on freezing assets of Russian President Vladimir Putin and Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov.

This was confirmed by The High Representative of the Union for Foreign Affairs Josep Borrell.

Putin became only the third world leader to be on the EU sanctions list, after Assad and Lukashenko.

The European Union will also impose sanctions on individuals in Belarus who promote Russian aggression against Ukraine.

The list of sanctions should be published later in the Official Journal of the EU.
