Germany is discussing a decision to disconnect Russia from SWIFT

Germany supports the decision to disconnect Russia from SWIFT.

This was stated by a German politician, member of the Christian Democratic Union Friedrich Merz.

"The SWIFT ban is a very, very sharp sword that will do great damage internationally. One thing is clear: if the EU Commission proposes to exclude Russia, Germany should not say 'no,'" he wrote.

Meanwhile, the Joint Committee of the Council of Europe recommends that a procedure be applied to Russia leading to the country's exclusion from the Council of Europe.
