Roskomnadzor obliged the Russian media to use the information only from "official Russian sources" in the preparation of articles about the Russian "special operation" in Donbas

According to Roskomnadzor, for disseminating "knowingly false information" the media face an administrative fine of up to 5 million rubles.

The controller can also block similar content.

"It's Russia's official information sources that post and disseminate reliable and up-to-date information," the statement said.
