Ukraine, Poland, and the United Kingdom are officially launching a new trilateral format of cooperation

The Minister of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine Dmytro Kuleba announced this at a press conference with the British Foreign Secretary in Kyiv, European Pravda reports.

This format of cooperation is designed to strengthen security and develop trade between states.

"Today we have the honor and pleasure to announce the launch of a new trilateral format of cooperation between Ukraine, the United Kingdom, and Poland," Kuleba said.

He added that a joint statement by the three foreign ministers would soon appear on the official websites of the three agencies.

To recap, in January this year, the United Kingdom proposed to establish a trilateral alliance with Ukraine and Poland.

This was officially announced on February 2 in Kyiv with the arrival of British Foreign Secretary Liz Truss. However, she contracted the coronavirus and her visit, as well as the announcement of the new format, was postponed.

In October 2021, official Kyiv initiated the creation of a format that is part of the strategy of small alliances as a proactive foreign policy of Ukraine.

According to Dmytro Kuleba, the new alliance is based not on local geography, but on the common principles of Ukraine, Poland, and Britain, the desire to strengthen security and develop trade and readiness for concrete action.

The Prime Minister of Poland Mateusz Morawiecki noted that the new format of cooperation between Poland, Ukraine, and Britain was primarily aimed at strengthening security in the region, in which all three countries are interested.
