Outstanding athletes to receive scholarships from President of Ukraine
Outstanding athletes in Olympic and non-Olympic sports will receive scholarships from the President of Ukraine.
Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal stated this during a government meeting, EP reports.
"We understand that the award of sports achievements is extremely important, so today we propose to award scholarships to 19 outstanding athletes of Ukraine in Olympic sports and their coaches.
In addition, from April 1, we propose to award 50 scholarships of the President of Ukraine to outstanding athletes in non-Olympic sports, who took 1-3 places at international competitions," Shmyhal said.
Among the athletes in Olympic sports who were awarded scholarships, in particular, the 2021 world champion in climbing Danyil Boldyrev, bronze medalist of the 2021 World Cup in gymnastics Illa Kovtun, and their coaches, as well as other athletes and coaches.
A total of UAH 8,712.3 thousand will be spent on this.
Scholarships will also be awarded to 26 representatives of non-Olympic sports and their coaches. Among the athletes are chess players Maria (2021 world champion) and Anna (bronze medalist of the 2021 World Cup) Muzychuk. This decree comes into force on April 1.
